OUR METHODOLOGY
From Concept to Concrete
Our process is highly collaborative, with both principal architects actively involved in every project from the start. This allows us to explore a wider range of ideas and refine them quickly to reach the strongest possible design outcome. We place a strong emphasis on listening and translating each client’s needs into architecture that’s thoughtful, functional, and tailored to how they live.
01 |
Initial ConsultationMeeting with the client to discuss what they are looking for, get a feel for their property, and better understand the project timelines and requirements. |
02 |
Schematic DesignThis phase focuses on the overall vision and layout of the project. We develop floor plans, exterior concepts, site relationships, and the general look and feel of the home while aligning the design with your goals, budget, and property constraints. |
03 |
Design DevelopmentDuring Design Development, the design is refined in greater detail. Materials, window layouts, rooflines, interior relationships, and major building systems begin to take shape. This phase also includes coordination with structural and other consultants as needed. HOA/Design Review Submittals are typically completed during this phase. |
04 |
Construction DocumentsThis phase includes the technical drawings and information required for permitting and construction. We prepare detailed plans, elevations, sections, and notes used by the contractor and consultants to accurately price and build the project. |
05 |
Construction AdministrationDuring construction, we remain involved to answer contractor questions, review submittals, and help ensure the project is being built in alignment with the design intent. |
Frequently Asked Questions
How much will this cost?
Every project is unique, so pricing depends on the scope of work. After our initial meeting, we’ll provide a proposal tailored to your project that outlines the cost based on your specific scope of work.
How long does this take?
Depends on a variety of factors: your HOA, jurisdiction, etc as well as project scope
What type of projects do you work on?
We work on everything from remodels and additions to full custom home new construction. We are both licensed in the State of Colorado, which also allows us to perform commercial architectural work, including projects throughout Grand County.
Do you specialize in mountain homes?
Yes. We specialize in designing homes for mountain living throughout Grand County and surrounding mountain communities. Our designs focus on durability, functionality, snow conditions, views, natural light, and creating homes that feel connected to the landscape. We have over a decade of experience combined designing homes in the mountains.

Can you help before I purchase land?
Yes. We can assist with feasibility studies, site evaluations, zoning considerations, and early planning before purchasing property.
Do you provide construction cost estimates?
We leave construction cost estimates to your contractor, but we help guide the design to align with your target budget and can coordinate with your builder throughout the design process to ensure everyone is working toward the same goals.
Do you design modern homes only?
No. While many of our projects lean modern and mountain contemporary, we design homes based on the client, site, and lifestyle rather than a single architectural style.
